OREGANO ESSENTIAL OIL

Quick Overview

oregano100% pure Oregano oil is obtained from a steam distillation of whole Oregano herbs wild crafted in Turkey. This is a very potent, pure oregano essential oil with a balance of important constituents, including high levels of Carvacrol. Oregano is considered to have the strongest antibacterial action of any essential oil.

Botanical Name: Origanum vulgare

Also called 'wild marjoram', 'grove marjoram' and 'joy of the mountain', this variety of Oregano is a hardy perennial herb that grows in a bush up to 90 centimeters in height with small, ovate, fragrant leaves and pink-purple flowers.

OreganoBlends Well With: Bay Laurel, Bergamot, Cedar Atlas, Chamomile-Roman, Eucalyptus-Lemon, Cypress, Eucalyptus-radiata, Lavender, Lemon, May Chang (Litsea cubeba), Oakmoss Absolute, Orange, Petitgrain, Pine, Rosemary, Tea Tree, and Thyme.

Scent: Herbaceous and camphoraceous

Contraindications: Dermal toxin, skin irritant, mucous membrane irritant. Do not use during pregnancy, on babies or children under 18. Do not use in baths.

About the Oil

Oregano is one of the strongest antibacterial essential oils. You can smell the oil's power from the first moment the bottle is opened - the aroma is quite intense.

Aromatherapy Notes

According to some aromatherapists, oregano essential oil may be best used when a strong response to bacterial infection is needed; it has a broad spectrum of bactericidal and anti-microbial action.

Traditional Uses

Ancient Egyptians prized oregano for its ability to disinfect wounds and speed up the healing process. It’s also believed that they used it in mummification. Throughout the centuries, oregano has been used to sooth coughs, calm digestive disorders, relax tension, and relieve insomnia.
